Job Description

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in Regional implementation and fulfilment of Seed Treatment Marketing Programs, focusing on Commercial Seed Companies in respect to Seed Treatment (ST) business and trait intentions; provide tracking and monitoring support to Seed Treatment Regional Business Coordinator, sharing critical external sales reports, market / industry trends, sales forecasts and competitive program information; and, communicate tactical alignment efforts by headquarters functions (Commercial Operations Leadership, Marketing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain) with external Seed Treatment and Crop Protection sales reps, Key Account Managers, Integrated Crop Platform (ICP) coordinators and regional sales offices.

The incumbent will:
  • Represent seed treatment commercial operations on crop teams when appropriate and/or transfer important business intelligence to ICP coordinators for implementation in crop team meetings;
  • Collect, organize and report back to ST Product Managers and regional headquarters business intelligence on external market awareness (received through direct seed company accounts, competitive data, sales reps, etc.);
  • Communicate and coordinate important Seed Company business intelligence to ICP coordinators for the use in crop team meetings as it pertains to Seed Treatment and trait needs; 
  • Communicate and promote trait information while gathering business needs surrounding Liberty link trait opportunities; 
  • Communicate and be part of the development of Regionalized and/or crop ST commercial programs;
  • Team with Seed Treatment sales reps to execute Regional Implementation of ST Programs;
  • Coordinate and communicate marketing programs with Commercial Seed Accounts;
  • Work internally with ST Regional Business Coordinator to develop tactical programs for specific product or market needs;
  • Communicate regional marketing programs to specific sales districts as needed in partnership with ST District Sales Managers;
  • Work to “calendarize” and communicate to the districts the logistics of fulfilment to meet program deadlines;
  • Monitor Region complaints, assist if needed;
  • Travel within Region, 50 to 75% to develop coaching/training skills and identify opportunities to assist the Commercial Operation Management team;
  • Work with ICP managers/Seed Treatment product managers on tactical advertising and local PR needs.

Qualifications

The selected candidate will possess:
  • B.S. degree in related field, preferably in Agricultural Sciences / Agri-Business with 8-12 years prior sales experience;
  • Thorough understanding of the various aspects and problems of the agricultural chemical/Seed Treatment markets gained from being a truly seasoned expert in sales / marketing and/or comparable experience.
  • Overall understanding of the agriculture industry;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practices in seed / seed treatments, pesticide, herbicide and fungicide usage would be expected. 
  • Understanding of Bayer and our competitors’ products; 
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills are necessary, as this role will transfer knowledge of market trends and product opportunities into actionable plans among the districts, but also to crop teams and product management teams in headquarters;
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced and matrix environment;
  • Extensive interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written) and project management skills;
  • Advanced computer and presentation skills (proficiencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes);
  • Ability to travel 50-75%, as needed

Preferred Qualifications
