Board Members

The Missouri Landscape and Nursery Association (MLNA) Board of Directors is comprised of 5 voting members: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and an At-Large Director, plus one non-voting member, the Past President.

Each individual selected to the MLNA Board agrees to serve a term of six years, beginning with At-Large Director and completing their tenure as Past President. Meetings are generally held four times a year, the first one being in January during the Western Nursery and Landscape Association's Annual Meeting and Trade Show. The remaining three are held throughout the year in Columbia, Missouri, although occasionally when schedule conflicts arise, conference calls are utilized.

MLNA Past President, Scott Rood is part owner and production manager of Pea Ridge Forest Tree Farm.  A graduate from Quincy University ('91) with a Masters of Arts degree in International Relations from Webster University ('94),  Scott is very involved with the family business which has grown to become one of the largest B&B wholesale growers of nursery stock in central Missouri. Started by his parents as a Christmas tree farm, Pea Ridge Forest has grown and diversified to include a complete line of trees and shrubs that are adaptable to the Midwest region.

Pea Ridge Forest Tree Farm is focused on growing quality material from the ordinary to hard to find specimens, says Rood. Environmentally aware, Pea Ridge Forest is committed to providing beautiful, vigorous, non-invasive nursery stock. We utilize conservation methods such as water preservation with drip irrigation and Best Management Practices throughout production.

As MLNA's Past President, Scott Rood continues to offer his leadership and support for MLNA as it faces the challenge to adapt and provide value to its members.  MLNA has an essential statewide communication and education role to play in the Green Industry today, says Rood. We are committed to respond to our members' requests.  MLNA also welcomes the opportunity to bring recognition to the Green Industry Professional.  Scott encouraged the involvement of Chris Starbuck and Paul Roberts as part of a complete transformation of our certification program which Rob Johnson launched January of 2008.  MLNA has the only state program recognized both state and nationally.
